А поводом для этого послужило интервью режиссера Билла Кондома, который заявил, что он впервые в детском фильме создал образ открытого гея, его сыграл Джош Гад, подыгрывал ему Люк Эванс. И все бы ничего, либеральная западная публика привыкла и не к такому, но Малазия решила вырезать секундную сцену и лишилась из-за этого прокатного удостоверения. В России тоже не на шутку всполошились и даже создали комиссию, которая никакого нарушения не нашла, но! Прецедент создан... И на фоне этих событий 13 марта в Нью-Йорке состоялась премьерный показ фильма-сказки "Красавица и чудовище" (Beauty and the Beast) в Alice Tully Hall в Lincoln Center. На фотоколл вышли Юэн МакГрегор, Дэн Стивенс с женой, Иэн МакКелен, которому подарили шелковый шарфик почитатели, Эмма Уотсон, Джош Гад, Одра Макдональд, Стенли Туччи, режиссер Билл Кондон, композитор Алан Менкен и другие.
